Welcome to The Battle Book Project! I am here to give you my best that I can find, develop and create for you to use in your prayer life.
What I’ve done up to this point is created an approach and compiled a tool to help you with prayer. I call it The Battle Book Project. It started in 2015 with the movie, War Room. I heard about the movie and decided to create my own war room. I cleared out the closet under the stairs, moved in a table and chairs, glued cork board to the walls and got stick pins. I read the book, Fervent, by Priscilla Shirer, and wrote out prayers on difference subjects for myself and for my husband and kids. That started my routine of daily praying. It worked well, mostly.
You see, we have a cat named Effy. She’s one of those office type cats who love paper and think that they can help, usually by sitting on the paper. She can open doors by reaching up to the handle and pulling it open. She joined me and began knocking my lists of prayers off the wall. So I started keeping them in a folder instead of pinned to the wall.
Next, I researched how to make a notebook for my prayers. I found a website on war binders. I liked that setup, bought the supplies and created a book for my pages. I really liked my binder and thought I’d gift them to my Moms in Prayer International group. I created prayer pages, printed off a few from websites, bought supplies for 12 books and started building them. It took a little bit longer that I thought but I delivered them to the group and they were well received.
I had been praying about a way that God could use me and my gifts. I counted my gifts and talents as 1) good with computers, 2) prayed lot, and 3) artistic. This book seemed like a way to bring that together. I designed my own pages because I didn’t want to infringe on copyrights. I ordered supplies. I developed a talk on prayer points and set a date for a party.
The first party was well attended and I recognized needed changes. I needed pages for a wider variety of people and their circumstances. I worked on different pages and had more parties. I have done these parties for several years now and love them. People build their books and seem to really enjoy them. I need follow up and would like to encourage people in using them.
I have done large groups like a teachers’ new school year kickoff, a women’s conference and a couple of crafts shows. I’ve done lots of small and mid-size parties. I really love doing the parties the best. It’s so personal, warm and friendly. I now have an Etsy page where I sell a simpler version of the book or just the pages. There’s a link on this website for the store. I’m also going to figure out how to add a calendar to schedule battle book parties from here too.
Here on this website, I plan to discuss prayer much like we do in the parties with the plan to deepen the conversation. I hope you will join me here often. Provide your email so I can notify you when a new post is up and give away freebies as we go.
See you in the prayer pages!
